Oh dear! Has it really been so long since I’ve written anything? Bad.
Back to school time is so hectic. There’s the shopping, the meetings, the new routine, the getting used to just getting up before the sun again. Then on the other end there’s the driving in the afternoon. Ok. Yes, I’m complaining. I’m not a morning person. Part of that’s caused by Lite1x being a second shift worker, and if I want to see him during the week I have to stay up until midnight. I try to fool my sleep cycle and take a morning nap between the time I take Matt to the bus and time for me to get ready to go to work. But as the old commercial used to say, “It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature” and although it’s necessary sleep, it’s still not productive sleep. Bless my husband’s loving soul; he’s taken pity on me a couple of mornings this week and let me sleep, and he’s taken Matt to the bus. But then that means he doesn’t get his rest either, but that’s the only way he can see his son during the week. Oh, there I go complaining again. But being a second-shift worker at the sock mill really stinks in so many ways… sleep deprivation, not seeing family at normal hours, and having to take vacation time to do anything in the evenings or on Saturday.
I did not mean for my return to blogging to be a gripe session. But I get cranky when I’m sleep deprived. I can’t even sleep in tomorrow because Matt has his first cross country race of the season in the morning, and we have to be up by 6:30. Not good!!
Well, before I start to hallucinate, I better go do the dishes. Who said, “No rest for the weary”? Whoever it was was right..
